HDRI statistics

"-statistic ABC nxm" returns the wrong values for HDRI. For example, we create two HDRI images, and find minima and maxima: f:\web\im>%IMG7%magick xc:srgb(10.001%,20.002%,30.003%) xc:srgb(40.004%,50.005%,60.006%) txt: # ImageMagick pixel enumeration: 1,1,65535,srgb 0,0: (6554.16,13108.3,19662.5) #19...

Re: Using compare and fuzz mismatch between AE and image output

"+noise" adds random noise. Run it twice, and you get two different results. That's a feature, not a bug.

You are on Windows. Are these commands in BAT scripts? If so, you should double the percents %%.

Re: Issues with PNG conversion since 6.9 and 7.0

You can deinstall the new version, and reinstall the old version. But there is a risk, especially if you operate a server with user-supplied images. Such changes are often made to reduce vulnerabilities such as hackers inserting malware into "corrupt" images.

What version of IM, on what platform?

But you show only two.

You could make white transparent, then write to "sparse-color:".

Re: Append 2 images and generate result filename from source's filename

As GeeMack says. Another method, Windows CMD syntax:

Code: Select all

magick ^
  ( toes.png -set option:FIL1 %t ) ^
  ( toes_holed.png -set option:FIL2 %t ) ^
  -set filename:MYFILE %[FIL1]_and_%[FIL2] ^
  +append ^
  %[filename:MYFILE].png
The output file is named "toes_and_toes_holed.png".

Re: Any recom for HDR (6x2EV) and batch proc?

Note the divisor or multiplier should be 65537, not 65536. This comes from the Q32 QuantumRange divided by the Q16 QuantumRange: (2^32-1)/(2^16-1).

The difference is small, of course.

Re: Image resize-watermark-and-move-with-rename loop

What version of IM? If v7, I suggest you use "magick", not "convert" or "composite". Your second script, if there are any jpeg or PNGs calls "convert" and "composite", and ignores any errors. I suggest you add error-checking. Your "convert" command should read the file, then resize, then write the f...

Re: N-Channel ICC profile conversions

The ICC Profile Inspector says CTPCtdMed.icc will convert from 3 channels to 6 channels, or from 6 to 3. Perhaps this is for a 6-channel printer.

As far as I know, ImageMagick cannot yet cope with 6-channel images, or create them. A developer may comment.

Re: possible bug -compose difference IM 6.9.10.94 Mac OSX Sierra

In v6, your "-channel 2" needs to be explicitly cancelled before writing the PNG, with "+channel".

Rule of thumb: whenever there is "-channel", also have a "+channel".

Re: subtract only the luminance of two images?

Subtracting one luminance from another will result in about half the values being negative. Is that what you really want? How about taking the difference, which is the absolute value of one minus the other. The hue channels can be averaged, but does that mean anything? I think averaging the a and b ...

Re: Append+ function on indexed images

IM doesn't guarantee to do anything in particular with palettes. You could examine the source code to see what it happens to do currently and how it orders the entries, but that could change in future versions.

IM doesn't provide control of palettes for users. Gimp does.

Re: watermark with extra info - loop needed

Does your code work for a single file? I doubt it, as you have "*jpg" for both input and output for "magick convert". Do you want all four "magick convert" commands executed for every file? If so, why not combine them into just one command? This would save writing temporary lossy JPEGs. For v7, I su...

Re: negate image w/ transparent.

See the v7 porting doc: http://www.imagemagick.org/script/porting.php

The problem is that v6 by default would negate just the RGB. By default, v7 also negates alpha. So the fix (which works in both v6 and v7) is:

Code: Select all

convert trans.png -channel RGB -negate +channel negative.png
